1. About Ipsos
The Ipsos iField Application (“app”) is provided for use by the Ipsos Group Primary Controller (Ipsos America, Inc. a corporation having its principle place of business at 360 Park Ave. S, FL 17,New York NY 10010 USA in the capacity of being the Ipsos entity who signed the contract with the vendor), acting on behalf of itself and on behalf of Ipsos’ Affiliate Controllers worldwide listed at the end of this document (Ipsos America Inc. and Ipsos Affiliates and Fieldwork Suppliers are referred to herein as “Ipsos”, “we”, or “us”).
This Privacy Policy explains how Ipsos uses personal information collected from you (“Interviewer”, “you”, or “your”) using the iField app. Prior consent from an interviewer is obtained to hold his/her information. If you are an Ipsos interviewer, it should also be read in conjunction with your Ipsos iField Interviewer Agreement or local Ipsos interviewer agreement. If you are a Supplier interviewer, it must also be agreed upon in conjunction with your local Supplier’s interviewer agreement.
The relevant controller of your personal data will be the Ipsos Affiliate, with whom you either have the Ipsos iField Interviewer Agreement or local Ipsos interviewer agreement, or the Fieldwork Supplier with whom you have an agreement that is providing your services to Ipsos.
2. About the app
The app is used by interviewers like you to work for or on behalf of the relevant Ipsos Affiliate or Fieldwork Supplier to collect market research data. The app is developed and maintained by a contracted third party, herein referred to as Shopmetrics or “vendor”. This third party is jointly Research Metrics, LLC at 5121 Whiteford Rd, Suite 200, Sylvania, OH 43560, USA, and Shopmetrics Europe Ltd at 30/B dr. Piskijuliev str. Suite.17, Varna, Bulgaria.
Data from the app is synchronised to Shopmetrics servers (EU-based, US-based or RU-based depending on the country of origin). All EU personal data stays within the EU.
3. How will the relevant controller use any personal data collected via the App?
This Privacy Policy applies only to interviewer personal data collected via the app. Other than as explicitly stated herein, it does not apply to any personal data collected pursuant to any Interviewer Agreement.

In order to function properly and to be able to provide Ipsos with the services as contracted under the Interviewer Agreement, the app will require the permissions set out below:
In addition, an Interviewer ID and password will be used to log in to the application each time it is used to ensure controlled access. The login process also allows new work to be allocated to individual interviewers.
- Ipsos will keep personal data in strict confidence in accordance with GDPR and this Privacy Policy.
- Ipsos will use your interviewer personal data solely for administration and quality control purposes.
- Items 1, 3 and 4 in the grid above are not asked in Germany or France.
4. Legal basis
The legal basis for the collection and processing of your personal data is the interviewer agreement between you and Ipsos (or you and the Fieldwork Supplier company that is providing your services to Ipsos) as well as consent.
5. How will Ipsos ensure interviewer personal information is secure?
- In line with GDPR, Ipsos takes its information security responsibilities seriously and applies various precautions to ensure your information is protected from loss, theft or misuse. Security precautions include appropriate physical security of offices and controlled and limited access to computer systems.
- Ipsos has regular internal and external audits of its information security controls and working practices and is accredited to the International Standard for Information Security, ISO 27001.
- Shopmetrics (the vendor) is also ISO27001 compliant.
6. How long will my personal data be retained?
- The iField app will only retain your interviewer ID until the app is uninstalled.
- The interview data (including media files) is removed from the device as soon as it is synchronised (transferred) successfully to the applicable regional datacentre as set out in section 7 below.
- The interview data (used for quality control and interviewer payment purposes) is then stored at the datacentre for 60 days after the associated project, in which it was collected, is closed.
7. Where will personal data collected via the app be held & processed?
All personal data used and collected for surveys will be stored by the Shopmetrics (the app vendor). Storage location is dependent to the geographical scope of the market research project, using data centres and servers within the EU, US, or Russia as required by legal jurisdictions.
If the geographical scope is EU/EEA/Australia/Canada/Iran/Israel/Libya/New Zealand/Oman/Pacific Islands/UAE/US/Yemen, the personal data will be stored by the vendor in its data centre in Bulgaria, which is in the EU.
If the geographical scope is Russia/Armenia/Azerbaijan/Belarus/Georgia/Kyrgyzstan/ Mongolia/Tajikistan/Turkmenistan/Uzbekistan, the personal data will be stored by the vendor in its data centre in Russia.
If the geographical scope is other than the above, the personal data will be stored by the vendor in its data centre in the US.

8. What are the personal data stored and transmitted to data centres?
The following relates to the information we store and transmit to our servers: Information transmitted to our servers during data synchronization via an encrypted channel:
Meta Data:
- interviewerID - internal user login ID
- Authentication data (password) entered in the application
- DateTime - timestamp of the interaction
- Ip - IP address
- IsFirstSync - internal sync sequence indicator
- AppRxBytes - bytes received
- AppTxBytes - bytes sent
Device Info:
- DeviceOS (Android/ Windows)
- DeviceManufacturer (ASUS/ Google etc)
- DeviceModel (Nexus One/ HTC Hero etc)
- DeviceOSVersion (5.1/4.2.1 etc)
- DeviceFingerPrint - information collected about a remote computing device for the purpose of device identification
- Unique Аpp Installation Id - information collected for the purpose of device identification
- AdvertisingId - information collected for the purpose of device identification
Information collected during the questionnaire completion:
- Attachments (photos and videos, audio/voice recordings)
- Geo-stamp (Latitude, Longitude, Accuracy, Timestamp) – the information is collected when permission is granted during the app installation, and while the application is active or running in background – except in Germany or France
- Questionnaire answers
- Time-stamp (collected for each answer)
9. How Can You Access Your Information and/or Correct It and/or Request Its Transfer and/or Erasure and/or Withdraw Your Consent and/or Restrict The Processing and/or To Be Free From Any Automated Processing and/or Complain?

You have the right to request a copy of all the information we hold about you. You also have the right to request the correction of any personal data we hold about you. Furthermore, you have the right for all the information you have provided to us, to be transferred to another party. In various circumstances, you also have the right to request from us the deletion or erasure of the personal information we hold about you, subject to any limitation set out within either section 6 ‘Data Collection and Data Protection’ of your Ipsos iField Interviewer Agreement or in your Local Interviewer Agreement.
